PURPOSE:To start to burn in a short time with a small amount of power without providing a combustion burner system by installing a heater obtained by molding a conductive SiC having a three-dimensional mesh structure and mounting a pair of conducting terminals on opposed surfaces in a vessel having a fuel gas introducing unit and a waste gas exhaust unit. CONSTITUTION:Conducting terminals 2 molded with conductive SiC are brazed to two opposed surfaces of a heater 1 obtained by molding conductive SiC having a three-dimensional mesh structure. A heater 1 carries a combustion catalyst made of platinum and palladium. Two surfaces mounted with the terminals 2 of the heater 1 having the catalyst and a heat insulator 3 wound on the two surfaces of the heater 1 are contained in a vessel 4. In this case, a mesh of the heater 1 is so contained as to be directed toward a fuel gas introducing unit 10 formed in the vessel 4 and a fuel gas exhaust unit 11. Thus, in order to conduct catalyst combustion, hydrogen gas for setting necessary combustion starting temperature is not required. |
