The backrest (6) has two parts (7, 8) which can be folded down independently of one another. A removable bar (14) for joining the two parts (7, 8) together is located in a transverse direction and can move in one part (12a) of a framework (12) for reinforcing one of the fold-down parts (8). The bar (14) constitutes a latch which can be engaged in a part (11a) of a framework (11) for reinforcing the second fold-down part of the backrest (6). A locking finger (16) keeps the latch (14) in its position in which it joins the two parts (7, 8) of the backrest (6) together.
