An item of jewellery has a closure socket (10) and a first insertion part (11) which can be introduced into the closure socket counter to the force of an elastic element (14) and can be fixed on locking elements. In the region of the insertion opening, first transfer elements are provided, which interact with corresponding moulded-on pieces of a first insertion part (11), and further transfer elements are also provided at the same insertion opening, which interact with corresponding connection elements of further insertion parts (12) during the closure movement. It is thus achieved that connection possibilities for widely varied insertion parts can be achieved directly on one closure socket (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
