Indane-1,3-dione derivs. of formula (I), their pharm. acceptable acid addn. salts and pharm. compns. contng. them. R1 = halogen or 1-3C alkoxy R2, 3 = 1-4C alkyl; or NR2R3 = satd. heterocycle opt. contng. a 2nd. heteroatom and opt. mono/poly-substd. by Me or Et. As short-acting anticoagulants. Compared with 2-phenylindane-1,3-dione, the cpd. exemplified below acts faster and has a lower toxicity. 2-phenyl-2-morpholinomethyl-indane-1,3-dione (76%), m.p.88 deg. (cyclohexane), HCl salt m.p.150 deg. (i-PrOH-EtOAc). |
