A vacuum cleaner (1) comprising a main body (2) and a cyclonic separating apparatus (3). The separating apparatus (3) comprises a dirt collection chamber (8b) and a baffle arrangement (10), and is mounted within the main body (2) such that a first part of the dirt collection chamber (8b) is obscured and a second part of the dirt collection chamber is visible during normal use. The baffle arrangement (10) is positioned within the dirt collection chamber (8b) such that, during use, an airflow moving within the dirt collection chamber (8b) is disrupted by the baffle arrangement (10) causing dirt to collect preferentially in the second part. |
