<p>PURPOSE:To provide an air bag type occupant protector which has high installation workability and is improved so as not to give any damage to an instrument panel when an air bag is inflated. CONSTITUTION:An air bag type occupant protector provided with an inflater 2 for gas generation and an air bag 5 inflating with gas pressure generated by the inflater 2 is so formed that when deceleration exceeding the prescribed value acts on a vehicle, the air bag 5 is inflated so as to be swelled into the compartment by pushing away a lid from the opening of an instrument panel 7, which is generally closed by the lid, and the lid is attached to a member fixed on the instrument panel 7 side via an engagement means allowing displacement of a prescribed range against the member fixed thereto.</p> |
