<p>PURPOSE:To enable selection of rectilinear reciprocating motion of a toothbrush shaft or rotary motion in both directions by engaging a cam with a first or a second cam guide by sliding it as well as to reduce cost. CONSTITUTION:Since a first cam guide 34 is a horizontal oblong hole having the same width with a diameter of an eccentric cam 24, when the eccentric cam 24 rotates, the first cam guide moves in the vertical direction. Since a side surface of a spur gear 20 comes in contact with a side surface of a base part 30, a toothbrush shaft 29 does not rotate, and rotary motion of a motor 12 can be converted into rectilinear reciprocating motion of a brush 44, and bath brushing (linear reciprocation brushing) becomes possible. Next, when the spur gear 20 is slid leftward by pushing an operation rod 45B, since a second cam guide 36 is a vertical oblong hole, horizontal directional force is applied while the eccentric cam 24 is rotating. Since a disk part 26 is situated in the first cam guide 34, the vertical directional movement is regulated. When the eccentric cam 24 revolves around a central shaft 22 and a circular arc part 25 moves laterally, the whole toothbrush 28 rotates by an angle within a prescribed range, and rolling brushing becomes possible, so that an expensive reverse rotation motor can be dispensed with.</p> |
