The present invention relates to a mast for a sailing craft. This mast (10) includes a longitudinal rail (11) provided with a longitudinal groove (13) designed to accommodate a boltrope of a mainsail mounted on the said mast. The rail supports at least one sliding carriage (12) provided with two lateral plates (22) and a fastening pin (23) making it possible to fix a head of the said mainsail. The longitudinal rail (11) is attached to the mast and is fixed by mechanical fastening means (24). This device is particularly suitable for mounting on a large sailing craft equipped with means for automatically winding the mainsail onto the boom. <IMAGE>
