The method makes a wire stand vertical to the cross section of the workpiece easily with a verticality meter and prevents the wire from vibrating. The method comprises a step of making a contactor(9) of a verticality meter(8) touch the wire by driving upper/lower guides(6,7), and reading/memorizing the movement amount(X); a step of lowering the upper guide(6) by a predefined height(H); a step of making the contactor(9) of the verticality meter(8) touch the wire by driving upper/lower guides(6,7), and reading/memorizing the movement amount(B1); a step of moving the guides(6,7) to initial positions.
