In a harvester for fruit lying on the ground, in which picked-up fruit is fed to a mobile collecting container and dirt also picked up is separated out, a complete pick-up and collection of fruit even from uneven ground is to become possible. For this purpose, the harvester according to the invention has the features that the collecting container is made closed on all sides and essentially air-tight and is provided with a closeable emptying orifice, that there is arranged in the collecting container at least one suction pipe, one end of which is located near a suction connection in one end wall of the collecting container and the other end of which is located near the suction side of a motor-driven suction blower, that the waste-air side of the suction blower opens out by way of a duct into an orifice in the other end wall of the collecting container, that a suction hose can be connected to the suction connection, and that a rake as a diverting element for sucked-in fruit is arranged between one end of the suction pipe and the suction connection.
