A rigid, elongate hollow component has, in the form of a pipe, a double-walled structure comprising a cross-sectionally annular inner pipe (1) and an outer pipe (2), differing from the inner pipe (1) in cross-section, in concentric arrangement, the inner pipe and outer pipe (1 and 2, respectively) delimiting a cavity (3) filled with a non-compressible fluid, and it being possible, by increasing the pressure of the fluid, for the outer pipe (2) to be bent, in the elastic material region, in the direction of, or to form, an annular cross-section. <IMAGE>
