Apparatus and method for mounting and dismounting bridges, in particular temporary bridges, in existing railway tracks

An apparatus for mounting and/or dismounting bridges, in particular temporary bridges, in existing railway tracks is to be provided, being simple in terms of construction and handling. In particular, this apparatus, which can be referred to as a temporary bridge-mounting machine, is to be usable without obstructing existing neighbouring tracks. The mounting or dismounting of a temporary bridge is to be possible with this apparatus in an extremely short time in order to limit the necessary interruption of traffic on the track in question to a few hours. For this purpose, said apparatus is a portal crane (gantry crane) which can be transported on at least one railway transport waggon and has supports, capable of being extended vertically alongside the track, for direct support, enabling the apparatus to rest on the at least one transport waggon, on the track subgrade. By means of such a portal crane, an extremely efficient working process is achievable, requiring few auxiliary operations, additional equipment and transporting means. This makes possible, inter alia, a high frequency of use. Overall, very low costs per construction site thus result.
