<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an ethylenic polymer which is excellent in the molding characteristics like uniform elongation and which is highly rigid and excellent in the mechanical characteristics like shock-resistance and durability, by constituting a fuel tank with ethylene homopolymer or copolymer of ethylene and an other alpha-olefin. CONSTITUTION:In ethylene homopolymer or a copolymer of ethylene and an alpha-olefin having 3-20 carbon atoms and containing at most 10wt.% alpha-olefin content, the intrinsic viscocity eta is 2-6dl/g, the density is 0.945-0.970g/cm<3>, zero shear viscosity at 190 deg.C is 2X10<7>-3X10<8> poise, and break time on melting and stretching is 25sec or longer. When alpha-olefin content exceeds 10wt.% the rigidity gets lower. When the intrinsic viscosity is lower than 2, the mechanical strength and the draw-down resistance decreases and if it is higher than 6, the moldability decreases. If the density is lower than the range, the rigidity decreases and if the zero shear viscosity is lower than the above range, the uniform stretching characteristic gets poor and if it is higher than the above range, the moldability gets worse.</p> |
