In a curved belt conveyor (10) with a conveyor belt (11) guided by deflecting rollers, the drive at at least one belt end takes place via a plurality of deflecting rollers (27, 28) which are arranged coaxially to one another and one of which is in direct drive connection with a drive motor (26), whilst the other deflecting rollers are operatively connected to the drive motor via slip couplings (32) which slip during operation (Figure 2). In an alternative embodiment, the conveyor belt is guided and driven at at least one belt end via a plurality of deflecting rollers which are arranged coaxially to one another and which are driven at different rotational speeds according to their centre distances from the curve centre point. <IMAGE>
