PURPOSE: To produce an injection-molded element having desired opacity or transparency by providing a process mixing a thermoplastic material with a dye, an org. pigment or a fluorescent pigment and injecting the resulting mixture in a mold to obtain an injection-molded element having regions different in thickness among which the thin region is transparent. CONSTITUTION: In a method for producing an injection-molded element having a selected opacity or transparency based on a thermoplastic material such as polyurethane, an ionomer resin or an EVA copolymer, at first, the thermoplastic material is mixed with a dye soluble in an org. solvent, a preliminarily dispersed org. pigment or a fluorescent pigment to obtain a mixture which is, in turn, injected into at least one mold, for example, a mold of a shoes flap 1. Regions different in thickness are provided in the mold so as to obtain a first opaque region 8, a second translucent region 9 and a third transparent region 10 in desired regions. By this constitution, peculiar effect changing from the opaque brightness of the first region 8 to the second translucent region 9 and the third transparent region 10 as thickness reduces is obtained. |
