<p>A fitting (1) for a door, window or the like (2), comprises locking means (6) provided with at least one operating rod (9) allowing actuation of means (18) of blocking, in terms of rotation, the opening panel (4) in various angular positions with respect to the fixed frame (3), these means (18) being constituted by at least one blocking member (27) and one complementary element (28), of which one is rendered integral with an extension (22) of the said operating rod (9) and the other is rendered integral with the fixed frame (3).
<??>In fact, according to the invention, the blocking member (27) and the complementary element (28) of the said blocking means (18) are located on the axis or rotation (19) of the opening panel (4) and each comprise crenellations (37; 40) intended to cooperate with each other when the locking means (6) are being controlled, the said blocking member (27) furthermore comprising linking means intended to render it integral, either with the frame, or with the operating rod (9) and with respect to which it can move with a travel (45) of length at least equal to the height (46) of its crenellations (37), this locking member (27) also being subjected to elastic return means (47) intended to push it back in the direction of the complementary element (28), the latter also being provided such that it rotates about the axis of rotation (19) and comprising braking means allowing this pivoting only by the application of a driving torque of variable intensity.
