In the process for manufacturing blanks for carriageway marking material and bitumen, the constituents of the material are melted and mixed in a cooker (20), the liquid material is introduced into a mould (26) covered by a release agent and the set material is transported to the place where it is to be used, is heated there and applied to a carriageway. A plurality of moulds (26) which are coated with a release agent and can be used many times are provided. After setting, the material is removed from the moulds (26) and wrapped in a polyethylene film.
