PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of an up control line by using a position register signal including only one registered area identifier. CONSTITUTION:A radio base station 30 receives the position register signal from a mobile equipment at an antenna 31 and a radio transmitter-receiver 32. The counter value of a relevant column in an adjacent registered area information storage device 35 corresponding to the registered area identification code contained in this position register signal is increased by one. At that time point, whether it is the time to update the position registered area information or not is decided and further, when it is not the new area, the reception of the position register signal is waited. At the updating time, it is decided whether the number of registration identifiers in the position registered area information is changed or not. When increasing the number of identifiers, any identifier provided with the largest counter value is first selected out of the identifiers not selected as the position registered area information inside the device 35, and added to the position registered area information. When decreasing the number of identifiers, the most newly included identifier is first deleted.
