Ball for games or occupational therapy

Balls are generally intended to execute a rolling or bouncing movement. They are not always particularly easy to grip, since they generally have a smooth surface, to which access for the hands is quite difficult. The new ball is intended no longer to be able to roll very far but be capable of optimum holding and gripping, so that it can be used in a versatile manner. It is also intended to be possible for new functions to be assigned to it which, detached from the rolling and bouncing properties, permit other uses in play and occupational therapy. Each ball consists of individual conical or conelike bodies, which (stuffed with filling material) are fixedly connected to each other. In the present case, the gripping ball is assembled from a total of 12 bodies. The respective bodies can comprise the widest variety of colours, materials and patterns. Use as a ball for gripping, play and occupational therapy, for example for babies, small children and convalescents. The ball can be used to teach, encourage, assist and restore both the dexterity of the fingers and precision motor movement sequences. <IMAGE>
