PURPOSE:To arrange the boards of respective stages parallelly by easily connecting the boards when forming a large scale switch by providing a collimator at a position, where the collimator of an optical connection part is matched with an optical axis, at the input/output terminal of a connection formed by an optical fiber or an optical waveguide. CONSTITUTION:At respective boards 31-33, collimators 35 are arranged for emitting optical signals, which are outputted from unit switches inside the boards through the optical fibers or the optical waveguides, as collimate light and for coupling the incidental collimate light to the optical fibers or the optical waveguides connected to the unit switches inside the boards. At an optical connection part 34, a collimator 36 is arranged for making the collimate light incoming or outgoing at a position faced to the collimator of each board. The emitted light of each board is made incident through the collimators 36 and 35 on the optical connection part 341. The emitted light is inputted through the collimators 36 and 35 on boards 321-324 and switched. Similarly, the emitted light of each board is inputted through the collimators 35 and 36 to the optical connection part 342 and arranged again. |
