PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet recorder in which an amount of ink remaining in a head is reduced when a cap is separated from the head for preventing contamination of paper surface and a body of the recorder. CONSTITUTION:When a cap 2 sealing a nozzle surface of an ink jet recording head 1b in a capping state (b) is to be separated from the nozzle surface, the cap 2 is gradually separated from one end 2a with the other end 2b abutted on the nozzle surface, and lastly the other end 2b is separated (c). |
