After punching out a label 8 from a web 10 of film material with a punch tool 1, the label 8 is first held by pins 32 on the upper punch 4. In a transfer position the label 8 is released from the pins 32 of the upper punch 4 by a scraper plate 34 and transferred to retractable pins 38 in a transfer element 26, which is displaceably carried in grooves in the mould parting face of the mobile female mould part 20 of the injection mould 2. Held on the retractable pins 38 in the transfer element 26, the transfer element 26 feeds the label 8, with the injection mould 2 in the open position, to a position opposite the cavity in the female mould part 20, where the pins 38 are retracted, releasing the label 8, following which the injection mould 2 is closed, enclosing the label 8 in the mould cavity, into which plastic is injected. After opening of the mould 2, the moulded plastic fabrication with the embedded label is ejected. <IMAGE>
