PURPOSE:To obtain a smoking agent, having a high volatilization ratio of an active ingredient, capable of manifesting high insecticidal and acaricidal activities and safely usable and suitable for use in the interior of a house. CONSTITUTION:This insecticidal and acaricidal smoking agent is obtained by blending (A) a fine granular substance, containing a pyrethroid-based compound as the active ingredient, a hypergolic substance and an organic foaming agent and having 0.3-0.9 bulk specific gravity thereof with (B) a fine granular substance, containing an oxidizing agent containing potassium perchlorate as principal agent, a combustion agent, an exothermic regulator, a perchlorate decomposition assistant and an inorganic filter and having 0.5-1.1 bulk specific gravity thereof. The blending weight ratio of the fine granular substances (A) to (B) is 1:(0.5-4).
