In a method for manufacturing a rotor for an electric machine, for example a permanent-magnet excited rotor for a high-speed a.c. machine, which rotor comprises a first part, constituting a rotor body, and a second part, comprising a capsule tube (4) which, when the rotor is completed, surrounds the rotor body with a shrinkage fit, one of the parts is fixed in the vertical direction in relation to a counter-support (6), whereafter the two parts are joined together by allowing the other part to fall against the fixed part under the influence of gravity. A device for carrying out the method comprises a counter-support (6) for fixing one of the first and second parts of the rotor in the vertical direction, and a guide channel (7) through which the other of the two parts during its fall is moved against the fixed part. |
