PURPOSE:To obtain a method and apparatus for capping without wrinkles and slacks by setting a biaxially stretched film on an opening of a container, and providing a punch-heating device to heat a part hanging from a periphery of the opening and a part for closing the opening. CONSTITUTION:A cup C with a curl 11 formed is mounted around on a mount 10 at the bottom of a capping port. A contiguous heat-shrinkable biaxially stretched film intermittently travels above the mount 10 vertically moving, while a fixed frame 13 is provided under it and a moving frame 14 including a cutter frame 15 formed with a heating part 16 formed inside is provided above it, forming a punch-heating device M. When a user mounts the cup C with contents put in it onto the mount 10, the cup stops at a position where its opening faces the contiguous film and it lowers to be cut into a circle by a cutter 18. The heating device lowers and covers the upper part while pulling a peripheral part, so that the peripheral part hangs down. At this time the film is heat-shrunk to be tightly adhered to an upper side wall of the cup. |
