For determining addition amounts (gA , gB) for two different desulphurisation agents (A, B) which are to be supplied to a steel melt to achieve a preset degree of desulphurisation (E*), a computing rule (4) is implemented in a computing device (1), which rule defines the general relationship between the degree of desulphurisation (E) and the amount (g) employed and material-specific parameters (c0, c1) of a desulphurisation agent. The parameters (c0, C1) are calculated for the two different desulphurisation agents (A, B) from the computing rule (4) in conjunction with pairs of values (e.g. E1A, g1A) which each specify for a specific addition amount (g1A) of the desulphurisation agent (e.g. A) in question the degree of desulphurisation (E1A) achieved therewith. Mutually corresponding parameters (e.g. c0A, c0B) of the desulphurisation agents (A, B) are linked, as a function of amount variables (gA, gB) of the desulphurisation agents (A, B), to form common parameters (c0, c1) which are inserted into the computing rule (4) for the purpose of determining the addition mounts (gA, gB) of the desulphurisation agents (A, B) as a function of the desired degree of desulphurisation (E*) and a desired total addition amount (g* = gA + gB). <IMAGE>
