PURPOSE:To stably record a laser light quantity by irradiating light in a recording light emitting quantity from a laser light source to a recording light emitting area provided on the same track as the data part of an optical recording medium, comparing the monitor result of the light emitting quantity with a prescribed emitted light indicating value, and correcting the light emitting quantity. CONSTITUTION:The light emitting quantity of a laser diode 4 is monitored by a monitor detecting circuit 22, and inputted to a laser light quantity control circuit 23 as well as to a sample-and-hold circuit 27. The circuit 27 samples and holds the output of the circuit 22 when recording light emission is executed to a recording light emitting area provided in front of and behind a data part, etc., of a sector. Next, the output of the circuit 27 is A/D-converted, and it is comparatively operated with the initially outputted light emission indicating value by an arithmetic circuit 28. Further, when a difference exists between both output levels, the difference is added to the indicating value at every sector, and the indicating value is updated. Thus, the hightly-accurate and stable light emitting quantity can be held. |
