<p>An apparatus and method for transporting a tool through a drill string in slimhole drilling operations is disclosed. A fluid passage such as a groove (32) is formed in the inner wall (26) of the pipe joint (28) to permit the passage of fluid from one pipe section to an adjacent pipe section as a tool is transported through the pipe joint (28). In one embodiment of the invention, the tool can comprise a core barrel (34) for retrieving a core sample from the wellbore.</p> |
