Over-resolution confocal microscope - has two shutters, first one mechanically generates and second one electronically on CCD detector

The confocal microscope has two shutters. The first shutter is mechanically formed, e.g. by a Nipkow disc rotating in an illumination beam path. The second shutter is electronically generated on a CCD detector by read-out on an image processing program. The image processing program pref. permits generation of any arbitery, annular read-out shutters such that the spatial resolution of such shutter combinations can be used for display of finest structures in the specimen by superconduction. The surface CCD detector may permit a Fourier analysis of the diffraction platelet. ADVANTAGE - Improved operation and resolution.
