PURPOSE:To provide a shape measuring device capable of simply and precisely measuring the fine surface information of a measured object or the outer shape of the measured object. CONSTITUTION:The focal distance of an image pickup section 100 is set to an initial value, and the visual field direction is set to the measuring direction for image pickup. An image signal is outputted to a data processing section 300 after image pickup. The image signal is differentiated and digitized for each picture element by the data processing section 300, then the digitized data are compared with the recorded data as the digital differentiated image signal data of the picture element. The digital differentiated image signal data value judged to be larger as the result of the comparison and the focal distance data of the data at the time of image pickup are recorded at the position corresponding to the picture element in a data memory means for data updating, and the data are displayed on a display section 500. |
