Technical objective. The invention consists in automatically moving an anti-skid protection means on motor vehicles into an operating position while travelling, which anti-skid protection means does not require any changes to the series-produced design of the vehicle. In this arrangement, the intention has been to use the kinetic and/or potential energy of the vehicle for activation so that no high-energy power source is used for activation. The anti-skid device has been intended to conform to the legal regulations. Solution of the technical object. The solution of the technical object consists in carrier arms which are flexible on one side being moved radially outwards and being wrapped round the tread of the tyre as a result of a common connection chain after the said tread of the tyre is reached. Activation takes place after enabling by a pulse transmitter or by manual triggering using at least one lever which is pressed radially inwards in the region of the contact surface of the tyre. Area of application. The area of application extends to all motor vehicles.
