PURPOSE:To produce the outer layer material of a composite roll for rolling having excellent abrasion resistance and seizing resistance by incorporating specific ratios of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Ni, Cr and Mo into Fe and preparing the high chrome roll material in which graphite is crystallized in said structure. CONSTITUTION:The high chrome roll material contg. by weight %, 2.8-3.6% C, 2.5-4.0% Si, 0.5-1.5% Mn, 0.15-1.5% P, <=0.08% S, 4.5-10% Ni, 5-10% Cr and 1.7-3.0% Mo, contg. at need the total about <=1.0% one or more kinds of Nb and V, and the balance substantially consisting of Fe, is prepd. In said structure, chrome carbide and graphite are crystallized and eutectic FeP and MoC are also deposited therein. Said high chrome roll material has excellent abrasion resistance and seizing resistance and is useful as the outer layer material of the composite roll for rolling. |
