CELL STACK AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING SAME

PURPOSE:To allow easy removal of cells from a heat insulating container in a short time by removably enclosing blocks of cells in the heat insulating container one by one. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of cell blocks 4 are removably enclosed in a heat insulating container and disposed in proximity to one another on an electric heater 3. Each of the blocks 4 comprises a support plate 5 made of iron or stainless steel, unit cells 6 each supported in an upright position on the support plate 5, and a holding frame for binding and holding the cells 6 in a cluster. The cells 6 are arranged in lines on the support plate 5 in such a manner that each of the lines is shifted by half of one block with respect to the adjoining lines, and corrugated portions 8 are provided at both side edges of the support plate 5 to correspond to the lines. With the plurality of blocks 4 enclosed in the container, one of the corrugated portions 8 of the support plate 5 is engaged with the corrugated portion 8 of the adjoining support plate 5. The corrugated portions 8 are passed through the gap between adjacent cells 6 and engaged with the support plate 5. Then the cells 6 can easily be installed and removed in a short time.
