A device for treating fluid, particularly polluted water such as acid-sulphate water. The device includes a stainless steel chamber (1) which is provided with buoyancy pontoons (3) allowing it to float in communication with the polluted water in a reservoir. The chamber is provided at both ends with openings (17) which allow water to flow freely into and out of the chamber for treatment. A trap door (5) provides an entry for water treatment reagent and a motor (4) and gearing system (4a) rotates the chamber about its axis (2). The rotation of the chamber combined with the action of internal mixer flights (10) serve to agitate the water and reagent mix with a milling action.
