The cartridge comprises a cartridge case housing an extendable lancet 106,216 and, associated with the case, a compartment for receiving blood which includes an analytical region for analysing a property of the blood. The analytical region may be proximate to the lancing opening and the cartridge may also comprise a reagent which interacts with blood. The cartridge may be of flat or bar-shaped form. In an alternative embodiment, a blood-sampling cartridge comprises a cartridge case and, associated therewith, an absorbent surface for wiping blood off the skin and a compartment for receiving blood. |
