PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of blood easy to generate in the branched part of a branched artificial blood vessel by coating the sutured part of the artificial blood vessel formed by suturing with a polymeric elastomer. CONSTITUTION:In order to perfectly prevent the leakage of blood from the pinhole due to suturing formed in the sutured part of a branched artificial blood vessel or from the place where the adhesion of an artificial blood vessel conductor is insufficient of the sutured part, the sutured part is coated with a polymeric material having elasticity. Coating is applied to the entire peripheries of sutured side tubes B, D, E, F along the circular suturing lines thereof. Coating width may be set to width sufficient to contain a sutured circumferential part but is usually set to width conaining the puncturing part of a needle at the time of suturing. As the polymeric material, a polyurethane or polysiloxane is used. Since the polymeric material having elasticity penetrates into the interstices between fibers to form a film, the leadage of blood at the time of operation can be perfectly prevented and the leakage trouble of blood due to the opening at the roots of the side tubes can also be prevented. |
