PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition containing an agent for preferentially inhibiting iNOS and an antiphlogistic agent and excellent in the therapeutic treatments of critical septicemia and septic shock. CONSTITUTION: This composition contains (A) an agent for preferentially inhibiting iNOS, such as L-canavanine, aminoguanidine or N<6> -(hydrazinoiminomethyl)lysine and (B) an antiphlogistic agent such as corticosteroid hormones, dexamethasone or methylprednisolone. Therein, the agent for preferentially inhibiting the iNOS and the antiphlogistic agent are preferably mixed with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier to obtain the objective composition. |
