An apparatus for holding and transferring extraction container, comprising a main body (1) and a cassette (2) which can be loaded on and unloaded from the main body (1), and easily changed. The apparatus can hold numerous containers, and has a simple structure. The cassette (2) includes a plurality of means (18) which hold containers in upright states, an endless movable body (16) on which the means (18) are arranged, driving rotating body (15) on which the movable body (16) passes, and driven rotating body (14). The main body (1) is equipped with driving means (24-27) for the rotating body (15) and a means (33) which is provided in a prescribed position where a liquid is extracted from the containers and recognizes the marks on the containers. The liquid extraction, mark recognition, and transfer of the containers are continuously performed while the movable body (16) is running.
