METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SENSING AND IDENTIFYING ELECTRICAL CABLES

A method for sensing the presence of an electrical cable and, where applicable, identifying it. The cable includes a conductive armouring (B) and a conductor (A) electrically insulated from the armouring. According to the method, the armouring is earthed (T) and a current pulse is transmitted through the armouring by means of a current injector device (100) which is earthed so that said pulse returns to the injector through the earth. The presence of the electrical cable is sensed near a reception point by means of a sensor (200) for sensing a signal representing said pulse.
