An ophthalmoscope head for medical ophthalmoscopy, fitted with its own light source and with an electrical and mechanical bayonet socket for joining with a grip, whereas that grip is a rechargeable battery holder at the same time, whereas that head features an optical illuminator, a revolving disk with a set of correction lenses, and an additional shifted optical element including two additional correction lenses, characterized in that the additional optical element (16) has three elements, whereas two of those elements lay on one plane, and the central element is shifted backwards with relation to the others so that the entire disk (15) width is seated freely between them, and the central segment of the element (16) includes two lenses (16a, 16b) and three apertures (16c, 16d, 16e), whereas the lower half of the central segment is black, and the side segments include protrusions (16) directed towards the head front and protruding to the outside through vertical slots in the front wall (19) of the casing half, whereas the element (16) has its central segment seated in vertical guides shaped directly on the internal surface of the wall of the rear casing half (17), and besides, the central segment has two arms (16g) ended with cylindrical protrusions (16h) that co-operate with appropriate recesses in the rear half (17) of the casing thus creating elastic latches that fix the element (16) in a selected location with relation to the observation window (19a),...<IMAGE>
