Hybrid reactor is composed of a core, a hydrogen storage zone comprising an enveloping core shell and an outer hydrogen generating zone, to obtain heat from a fusion reaction combined with a fission reaction, using CH4 and CO2 gas. At the core, uranium dioxide, plutonium oxide and the like are present to produce nuclear heat by a fission reaction. In the enveloping core shell, a hydrogen-storing alloy is present next to the core to accumulate hydrogen. In the outer or hydrogen generating zone, transition metal plus alkali-earth metal are employed as catalyst to make CH4 rich gas and CO2 gas reformed to CO and hydrogen rich gas endothermically. |
