Remote alarm system, characterised in that it comprises individual short-range portable transmitters (1), which can be actuated manually so as to transmit a predetermined warning signal, and a multiplicity of fixed receiver devices arranged at appropriate locations in a site to be protected, these receiver devices being able to receive the warning signal transmitted by any one of the portable devices (1) within range, and to retransmit the warning thus detected to personnel for intervention.
