The invention relates to a collecting and storage device for domestic and industrial waste materials which are to be collected and stored separately and in a manner sorted in a plurality of containers closable by means of lids. The object of the invention is to provide by simple means an easily operable device, in which it is possible to accommodate in a confined space a multiplicity of collecting containers, into which the material to be collected can be introduced, without handling operations having to be carried out on the device during sorting. According to the invention, the containers are arranged in a plurality of tiers above one another in a stand or cabinet-like container, the containers in the stand or cabinet-like container stand in an oblique position descending rearwards, the containers of at least one tier are assigned at least one lid, and all the lids are to be opened and closed by means of a device jointly acting on them. The advantage of this collecting and storage device is that it allows a highly individual and special apportioning of the material to be collected, has a very simple construction, takes up very little space, can be operated easily, opens all the lids by one action and makes it possible to retain all the lids in their open position.
