PURPOSE:To give creases excellent in washing resistance to a cellulosic fiber- containing web or its sewed product by giving creases or three-dimensional patterns to the cellulosic fiber-containing web or its sewed product and subsequently applying a crosslinking reaction to the web or its sewed product with gaseous formaldehyde. CONSTITUTION:A cellulosic fiber-containing web or its sewed product is subjected to a creasing process with e.g. a washer-processing machine, allowed to stand in a constant temperature and moisture chamber for 24hr for the uniform adjustment of the water content, exposed to formaldehyde gas in a gaseous phase with a gaseous phase processing machine, and subsequently thermally treated for the formation of crosslinking bonds between the cellulose molecules and the formaldehyde, thus giving creases or three-dimensional patterns excellent in washing resistance to the web or its sewed product. |
