Hydro-terminated polysilane and process for making

A both end hydro-terminated polysilane is of the formula: H[(R1R2Si)n(R3R4Si)m]kH wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are independently C1-C12 alkyl groups or aryl groups and letters n, m and k are numbers in the range: 0/=10, and k>/=1. It is prepared by dissolving a corresponding chloro-terminated polysilane in a solvent and reducing with LiAlH4 in an inert gas atmosphere.
