The invention relates to a method and a device suitable for carrying out the method for identifying, damaging and wetting of part-areas of a surface with a liquid. In order to provide such a method and to carry out a method of partially identifying and applying various substances to a surface in this way, in particular with allergens, the following process steps are proposed: fastening of a cover provided with perforations as working fields, opening of the containers of a container unit on one side of the container unit, damaging of the surface when the cover is applied, application of a container unit on to the cover, containers with all requisite substances being arranged in the container unit in a position suiting the perforations in the cover, and opening of the containers of the container unit.
