摘要 <p>A method of determining trace metallic impurities contained in a fluoropolymer by using a flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometer to conduct direct determination or to improve the limit of detection of metals, which comprises ashing a given amount of a sample containing metals to be determined in a cuvette under the ashing conditions including the ashing temperature of about 400-1,200 °C and the ashing time of at least about 100 seconds and measuring the absorbance of the ashed sample as such with the spectrophotometer. A process for producing a fluoropolymer characterized by monitoring quantitatively the amount of trace metallic impurities contained therein according to the above determination method; and a process for producing a fluoropolymer characterized by determining trace metallic impurities contained therein according to the above determination method.</p>
