<p>The subject of this invention is an improved sewing machine, suitable for permitting perfect and complete stitching of the uppers to the soles for footwear. The machine comprises: a unit for feeding a first sewing thread under the pieces to sew, placed on top of one another, a unit for feeding a second sewing thread above the pieces to sew and a hooked needle arranged above the sewing zone. Means are envisaged for operating the needle, with reciprocating motion, along its axis so as to make the tip of the needle pass through the pieces to stitch and to hook the first thread with formation of a loop of thread which is traversed by the second thread. The machine is provided with means for connecting means for operating the needle with the elements for operating the unit for feeding the first thread and the unit for feeding the second thread. The machine also comprises means for deactivating these means of connection and auxiliary means for tensioning the first thread, operable on command, to effect tensioning of the first thread on completion of the last sewing stitch. <IMAGE></p> |
