PURPOSE:To always keep a comfortable environment by a method wherein indoor and outdoor environment states and an operation state are detected, from the detected result, the amenity of a space to be air-conditioned is assumed, and a set temperature is corrected so that the assumption result is adjusted to preset the amenity. CONSTITUTION:During the operation, for example, the indoor temperature Ta and indoor humidity are detected as indoor and outdoor environment states and further an indoor air velocity is detected based on the amount of indoor blow-off air and a louver angle, as the operation state. From the detection result, the amenity, so called predictive mean vote(PMV), of a space to be air-conditioned is assumed. A neutral network through which the amenity of a human body in a comfortable space is learnt is used for the assumption. A correction value Tn to a set temperature Ts is then determined so that the PMV is adjusted to zero (a set amenity). Time count is started, and each time amenity attains a set value tS, the set value Ts is corrected by a given value T1, for example, 0.5 deg.C, at a time. The different DELTAT between an indoor temperature Ta and the set value Ts after correction is determined and the output frequency F of the inverter circuit of a compressor is controlled according to the temperature difference DELTAT.
