PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device capable of automatically correcting the change in image density, etc., caused by the secular deterioration of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:An EEPROM Q4 is attached to a photosensitive body (photosensitive drum). The photosensitive body constitutes an interchangeable unit. The number 50000 of remaining working amount equivalent to the life of the photosensitive body is written in the EEPROM Q4 of the new photosensitive body. When a power source is applied, a microcomputer Q1 writes the remaining working amount of the EEPROM Q4 in a built-in SRAM and counts down one by one every time an image is formed on one sheet. When the power source is turned off, the remaining working amount of the photosensitive body stored in the SRAM is overwritten on the EEPROM Q4. By changing developing bias in accordance with the working amount corresponding to the remaining working amount of the EEPROM Q4, the image density is automatically corrected in accordance with the secular deterioration of the photosensitive body. |
